PlayStation Vita is certainly a marvel of technology, capable of great things. It is so powerful that some had speculated he would be able to emulate PS2 games directly like PS3 and PSP are already doing with PS1 games.
In other words, buy PS2 titles on the PlayStation Store, at a reasonable price and be able to play them directly in PS Vita. Please note, we are talking about PS2 games of truth, not the remakes that are available in HD on PS3.
Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, was asked about the viability of this possibility. He simply replied, “I doubt it.”
After these few words are lost hope, but it is not impossible that future PS2 classics remastered in HD PSVita also reach as well as PS3.

Sony is still selling PS2, so we wont see PS2 on the PS3 or PSV for a while, its possible though
